This method does not require disabling System Integrity Protection (SIP). GCAdapterDriver is an open source project to enable adapter usage on macOS. GCAdapterDriver installation packages for macOS High Sierra (10.13.6) and later You don’t need to configure the drivers manually within Dolphin’s driver setup, but any drivers attached to the adapter should work right out of the box. Once installed, Dolphin should be able to recognize that the adapter has been plugged in. Therefore, to use adapters on macOS, a driver must be installed that simply grabs and ignores the adapter and allows a lower-level connection (like Dolphin does). Since the adapter does not provide a valid report descriptor, this makes the IOKit handler useless for direct communication.
